Lesson 1 - 17 July
In our first lesson in this CSI module, we were introduced to fingerprinting. We learnt that everyone has different and unique fingerprints.Fingerprints have different ridge patterns that allow the person to be identified by their fingerprints.
There are 3 major fingerprint patterns. Arch, Loop, and Whorl.
A minor scrape, scratch or even burn won't affect the structure of the ridges in your fingerprints - new skin reforms in its original pattern as it grows over the wound.
In the lesson, we got the chance to try our hand at fingerprinting. We also played a simple game whereby we had to identify our friends' fingerprints. I learnt how to fingerprint clearly from this experience. This was an enjoyable lesson and was a great start to our csi journey.
